Description
Venkatagiri cotton sarees are from Venkatagiri, Andhra Pradesh. Cotton keeps the body cool in summers and warm in winters.Being natural material cotton has many benefits. What makes this fabric special is its qualities and the way it is manufactured. The hand-weaving gives its extra softness and texture, which is like a soul to the fabric. From raw cotton to cotton fabric and then to the cotton garment. Spinning process turns the cotton fibres into treads. Next and the magical step is ‘Weaving of threads’. We call weaving a magical process because we gain a better understanding of this world and how humans are woven in it through just a single world. ‘We are bound to our bodies through the unbreakable bound of earth.’ What’s so great about natural fabric? Well, cotton being a natural fabric brings long lasting shine and colour. Widely considered as a Skin-friendly and comfortable. It almost takes 180 days to 200 days to grow from a plant to seed and then seed to thread. It takes 20-25 days to weave one venkatagiri cotton saree. Fabric Care The only thing you need to know while purchasing this beauty is to always hand-wash the saree gently, never machine-wash them. It is advised to only use conditioner and lukewarm water. Dry it in a dark area and before washing soak Venkatagiri cotton saree in warm water for 20 mins with rock salt.
