The weaving of Dhakai Jamdani saree is a time-consuming and labor-intensive process. It is done on a handloom, where the weaver creates the designs by interweaving threads of different colors into the base fabric. The base fabric is usually made of cotton, but nowadays, silk and other fabrics are also used. The weaving technique used in making Dhakai Jamdani saree is called "dhakai weaving".
