The technique involves a lot of effort and hard work. Firstly, the caterpillars of wild silk that are found in the rainforest are collected. These caterpillars are fed on Arjun tree leaves. It is said that the diet of the silkworm affects the quality of the silk which is why Tussar Ghicha silk is different from other silk. Cocoons are collected and boiled. When both the parents are weaver how can the son stay away from weaving? Abhiram uses to assist his parents in weaving and dyeing. To make his parent’s workload easy while teaching Abhiram the family skill. When Abhiram was merely 14, he started weaving while pursuing secondary education. The aforementioned post-school activity made him fall for colours and handloom. Post the matriculation examinations, Abhiram was ready to join his father full time. Abiram started loving to design detailed motifs like pasapalli, damru and star on Tussar Khia and Tussar Ghicha saree. Which later becomes ARD handloom signature products. Abhiram gives all the credit to his father for teaching him the expertise.
