Mysore Silk Pattu Saree, also known as Mysore Silk Saree, is a traditional silk saree that originated in the city of Mysore in Karnataka, India. These sarees are known for their rich and luxurious look, and are highly prized for their quality and craftsmanship. History: The history of Mysore Silk Pattu Sarees dates back to the reign of the Wodeyar dynasty in the 17th century. The royal family of Mysore were great patrons of the arts and were instrumental in the development of the silk industry in the region. The Mysore Silk Factory was established in 1912 by the Maharaja of Mysore, Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, to cater to the growing demand for silk sarees. The factory was later renamed as the Mysore Silk Weaving Factory and is now under the Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation (KSIC).
