Description
Off White Kathastitch Pure Handloom Dupattas From Bengal are beautiful and traditional hand-woven dupattas from the state of West Bengal in India. These dupattas are made using the traditional Kathastitch weaving technique, which is a specialty of the state. The word “Kathastitch” is derived from two words – “Katha”, which means story and “stitch”, which refers to the embroidery technique used in these dupattas. This technique involves weaving stories and motifs into the fabric using colorful threads, creating intricate and unique designs. The handloom process used to create these dupattas is a labor-intensive one, with skilled weavers spending hours on each piece to create the intricate designs. The result is a one-of-a-kind piece that reflects the artistry and skill of the weavers. The base fabric used for these dupattas is typically cotton or silk, which is locally sourced and of high quality.
