Suraksha Beema Yojana Sampoorna Suraksha Beema Yojana (SSBY) is a government-backed insurance scheme launched by the Ministry of Labour and Employment in 2015. This scheme aims to provide social security coverage to the unorganized workers in the country. It is a part of the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan (PM-SYM) scheme and is implemented by the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). Under this scheme, all unorganized workers between the ages of 18 to 59 years and earning a monthly income of up to Rs. 15,000 are eligible to enroll. This includes street vendors, rickshaw pullers, construction workers, agricultural laborers, domestic workers, and other similar occupations. The SSBY scheme provides a life and disability cover of Rs. 2 lakh to the enrolled beneficiaries in case of natural or accidental death, and a cover of Rs.
