The saree is made from pure cotton or a blend of cotton and silk, and is known for its lightweight and sheer texture. The process of making a Dhakai Jamdani saree is a time-consuming and intricate one. The weavers use a special handloom called ''Jacquard'' to create the unique designs. The motifs are first drawn on a graph paper and placed under the warp threads of the loom.
