Yellow Pure Handloom Khesh Cotton Saree is a traditional saree from the state of West Bengal in India. It is made from pure cotton fabric and is known for its unique weaving technique called "Khesh". This technique involves weaving discarded sarees, dhotis or other fabric scraps together to create a new cloth. The process of making a Khesh saree starts with collecting old cotton sarees or dhotis. These are then torn into thin strips and sorted according to color. The weavers then carefully select and arrange the strips in a specific pattern on the loom. The warp (lengthwise) threads are usually white or off-white, while the weft (widthwise) threads are made from the colored fabric strips. The weaver uses a shuttle to pass the weft thread over and under the warp threads, creating a unique checked or striped pattern. The distinguishing feature of a Khesh saree is its texture.
