Description
Kesaxun Lokaparo Set is a traditional garment worn by the indigenous people of the Apatani tribe in the Ziro Valley of Arunachal Pradesh, India. It is a two-piece set consisting of a top and a bottom, and is made of locally sourced materials.
The top, known as the Kesaxun, is a sleeveless blouse with intricate embroidery and designs on the front and back. It is usually made of cotton or silk and is adorned with beads, shells, and coins. The embroidery is done using vibrant colors and geometric patterns, which are unique to each family or clan. The top is usually worn over a white or black inner garment.
The bottom, known as the Lokaparo, is a wrap-around skirt made of a single piece of woven fabric. It is usually made of cotton or silk and is also adorned with colorful embroidery. The length of the skirt can vary from knee-length to ankle-length, depending on the occasion.
